“Mot Ngay Moi” (“A New Day”) Restaurant combines two popular meal styles: standard meals and à la carte dishes. It is a unique establishment in Hanoi, maintaining traditional local dishes such as Chinese braised pork, roast pork, simmered meat with pepper, sweet and sour fried pork ribs, water morning glory with Dracontomelon fruit, and eggplants with salt. Diners often feel as though they are enjoying a home-cooked meal prepared by their mother.

Previously known as Rice – Beer – Seafood Restaurant, it was established in 1997 during the worst Asian financial crisis, which also severely impacted Vietnam. At that time, our family was involved in gold and silver trading but faced legal issues and lost our assets, forcing us to close our shop. With limited capital and a difficult situation, we decided to open a family-style restaurant. Using the best raw materials, my mother cooked, my father managed customer vehicles, and the children served as waitstaff.

As the restaurant grew, we hired additional staff, but we have maintained the quality and original taste of our dishes. Today, “Mot Ngay Moi” Restaurant at No.72 Ma May Street is renowned not only among Vietnamese but also among international customers who highly recommend it on social networks and travel platforms like TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet.

We hold steadfast to our business motto: We hope that a person will come to our restaurant thousands of times rather than thousands of people only once. We sincerely thank all our customers for their support over the years.
